BMI - Standard

BMI - Standard

Body Mass Index. I'm considered at risk because I'm 215 lbs and just under 6'3". Kind of scary consider the tonnage I see at the fast food counters, but I'm headed to under 200 and possibly under 190. We shall see.

How to Upgrade TiVo

How to Upgrade TiVo

How to upgrade your Tivo.

Our Tivo died last Thursday. Disk just isn't spinning up. During the Olympics, no less. I bought a new one at Best Buy for less than warranty replacement of the drive (120 days into the 90 day warranty, but that's another story).

Anyhow, I have a spare 120 Gig drive (who doesn't) and will test upgrading.

Looks like a useful resource for the SmartPhone. I have a Samsung SCH-i600. Its great, but not too common yet.

The phone is very stable, good battery life, good overall performance so far. I have not tried ActiveSync with Exchange 2003, but I will get to this after we get Sarah to school.

Hosted Exchange

Hosted Exchange: Can it Work for You?

Decent overview of the technical issues involved, but it doesn't answer the question about cost/benefit. The prices I see for hosted Exchange eclipse the cost of clients having SBS 2003.

Most small companies need at least a file/print server and high speed internet. Adding SBS 2003 and Exchange is incremental. Maybe I'm just a geek, but most small business people don't want another multi-hundred dollar per month cost and then not even have mail archives locally. Mail is considered intellectual property by lots of companies and having a multi-gigabyte store on someone else's server would keep them awake at night.
