Hardware Problems
My second server appears to have a bad system drive.
I did a checkdisk yesterday, but nothing showed up. I'll re-try tonight, but its probably something I need to replace. This is an old 9 Gig IBM SCSI (160 Mbps) drive.
The servers are old 1U Microns in a rack in the basement. I like the servers, and they have been working flawlessly for over two years, but don't want to put a bunch of money into them. Its time to inventory the Begley Hardware Crib (office, basement, bedroom closet).
I got rid of my Telebit Trailblazer modem in December after I found out the power supply was bad. The one in the picture is newer than mine. I got a special BBS SysOp deal in the 80's and even loaned it to Drexel University when we moved to Ireland.
I suppose its time to get rid of the 5.25", full height, 300 Megabyte (that's Mega, not Giga) SCSI drives I have in my office closet. I have one that is
