I'm still estimating that a 'useful' mini configuration would still set me back $1000, which doesn't make it very cost effective compared to a WIntel platform (regardless of OS).

If Apple had an x86 release of OSX, I would be on it in a flash, if only to eval. I would even buy additional hardware if they have a limited HCL.
