I hope this doesn't impact Bloomsday. Finnegans Wake is set on June 16, 1904. Every June 16th, various groups perform public readings of Finnegans Wake, including readings in Philadelphia and Dublin (where the story is set).
Joyce's grandson is in his 70's. He is well off, having made millions from royalties on James Joyce published works. The EU extended copyrights, so his grandson is threatening lawsuits against anyone who celebrates the centennial with public readings.
