How to Uninstall McAfee Security Center: 3 steps - wikiHow

I was doing Friends and Family support on my cousin's laptop in Ireland and could not uninstall McAfee Security Center and associated McAfee services.

When I attempted the uninstall using Add/Remove Programs, the McAfee software generated an error that services were running, even after I stopped them and confirmed using 'net start' from the command line as well as SysInternals Process Explorer.

The McAfee Program Removal tool (link below) worked as advertised. After the uninstall, I used Sysinternals autoruns application to remove the McAfee references from the system logon auto-start list.
