The state of North Carolina needs to understand that it does not make sense to shut down an interstate such as I-85 during a week day to perform what appeared to be brush cutting and pouring concrete in a drainage ditch. I understand worker safety, but this could have been scheduled outside of normal business hours, overnight, or on a weekend. Thousands of drivers were tied up in an 8-12 mile backup of traffic. Even after cutting through back roads for at least 6-7 miles, it took us over one hour.
